Established in 2014, Brooklyn Tax & Accounting, Inc. began in a storefront location in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn; the company grew out of the IRS VITA tax program at Brooklyn College. Members of the VITA management team went on to take the Special Enrollment Exams becoming Enrolled Agents. The knowledge that tax payers are being taken advantage of by disreputable or inexperienced tax preparers caused us to open our own firm to offer high priced services at a discounted rate.

Business Services

At Brooklyn Tax & Accounting, Inc. we specialize in business consulting and tax accounting. We utilize tax reduction strategies through out all of the financial services we provide. We prepare and file quarterly business tax returns as well as the annual income tax returns. We provide small business accounting services such as bookkeeping, payroll management, business formation, executive consulting as well as other accounting services, all with a focus on reducing the overall tax burden.

Personal Services

For our personal clients, we offer tax services on an individual or family basis. We help clients plan ahead of time to reduce tax liabilities, prepare and file the income tax returns, as well as represent taxpayers before the IRS.

Executives

President: Mike Hovell

Mr. Hovell has deep roots in the financial sector beginning his career as a stockbroker and derivatives trader. He left the markets and worked for many years as the CFO for a publicly traded company. During this time Mike discovered his passion for tax law and the desire to use the law to help taxpayers keep more of their hard earned money.
